Miss Ruby - A Life of Dedication (2025)

Miss Ruby is a short film created for the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library in honor of its namesake, Ruby Murel Cales Sisson. A deeply influential figure in the small Colorado town of Pagosa Springs, Ruby built her legacy through decades of dedication as a beloved and accomplished teacher.

Beyond the classroom, Ruby played an active role in the community, contributed to numerous local organizations, and even managed and operated her own ranch. Her impact reached far and wide, touching the lives of students, colleagues, and neighbors alike, even extending to Robert Oppenheimer’s younger brother. In the film, several of those she influenced share personal reflections and memories of Ruby. More than a historical account, Miss Ruby is a tribute to her life, capturing both her story and the lasting legacy she left behind.
